Central High School, Madison County, Ala.
Subject Schools--Alabama--Madison County;
Description Central High School, in northeast Madison County, opened in August, 1917. It was the first consolidated school in the County. Mr. Ben Lawler, Sr., donated five acres of land for the school to be built upon. The communities of Brownsboro, Maysville, and Ryland raised money for the materials to build the school, and residents of the communities donated their time and labor to build it. A new wing was built around 1920. The school burned in the spring of 1931.
